The consultant will collaborate with various teams to facilitate the creation of comprehensive plans, zoning assessments, and infrastructure strategies while considering environmental, social, and economic impacts. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct planning analyses, including those related to environmental assessments (e.g., NEPA, SEQRA, CEQR), climate initiatives, equity considerations, and Environmental Justice
- Gather and organize raw data, which may involve research, interviews with governmental bodies, map evaluations, and field studies
- Create visual representations and detailed reports
- Assist in traffic analysis
- Facilitate public engagement activities
- Master's degree in planning or a related discipline
- Five or more years of experience in environmental planning or a related field
- Familiarity with Federal and New York environmental regulations, including environmental assessments, climate initiatives, and Environmental Justice
- Knowledge in ecology, endangered/threatened species, cultural/historic resources, and wetlands is advantageous
- Technical skills: Proficient in MS Office, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign. AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Excellent writing and communication abilities
