Responsibilities
  • Install, repair or move various sizes and types of foundry machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate stock of spare parts for foundry equipment.
  • Use a lathe, drill, forge power hammer, and welding equipment to repair foundry machines.
  • Replace parts in foundry equipment.
  • Work from drawings, charts, and sketches, use micrometers, dividers, calipers, protractors and other tools as necessary to complete a repair job.
  • Analyze and repair electrical and mechanical problems on foundry systems and equipment.
  • May be responsible for minor plumbing and welding.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; trade school or trade training is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience is required.
  • Ability to work from sketches, drawings, layouts or general instructions for repairs.
  • Ability to use scale, ruler, level, calipers, micrometer, etc for repairs.
  • Knowledge of elementary mechanic, power transmission problems and foundry machines.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
