Position Overview:
Specializes in surgical procedures involving the oral cavity, gums, teeth, neck, and jaws.

Engage with patients to discuss treatment alternatives, execute surgical operations, and stay updated on the latest advancements in surgical and dental practices.

Required Education:
Dental Doctorate Degree - Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD)

Required Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Arkansas Dental License - Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners, Basic Life Support CPR for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) - American Heart Association, Oral Surgeon License - Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the preparation of reports and documentation as mandated by the department, organization, and regulatory bodies. Ensure the maintenance of comprehensive and precise dental records.

2. Travel between clinics as necessary. Availability for on-call duties as scheduled by the Dental Director/Assistant Dental Director.


3. Assist the Clinic Manager/Dental Manager in overseeing dental personnel and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

4. Achieve productivity targets established by the organization and support the Clinic Manager and dental team in reaching these objectives.

5. Maintain a professional demeanor with patients, staff, and administration. Supervise Dental Assistants as required.

6. Execute additional tasks as directed by the Dental Director/Assistant Dental Director to fulfill clinic or organizational objectives.

7. Assess, diagnose, and treat dental conditions to ensure optimal patient care.


8. Educate patients, parents, or guardians regarding dental health, necessary treatments, and the associated risks, benefits, and alternatives.

9. Collaborate with other specialists, such as restorative dentists and orthodontists, to devise treatment plans.


10. Document patient care by maintaining detailed records of appointments, including observations, tests, and prescribed treatments.

11. Administer anesthetics to minimize discomfort during procedures.

12. Perform surgical interventions to extract impacted or damaged teeth, place dental implants, and remove tumors or abnormal growths in the oral and facial regions.

13. Conduct minor cosmetic procedures, such as enhancements to facial structures. Provide ongoing support and guidance to patients receiving long-term care.

14. Engage in research related to defects, diseases, and disorders affecting the oral and facial regions.

15. Prepare and maintain patient charts, treatment plans, and complete necessary reports. Understand the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and fostering a patient-centered environment.

16. Enhance professional development through participation in educational programs, reviewing current literature, and attending workshops and in-service meetings.

17. Other duties as assigned.
