Job Summary:
As a Limited X-Ray Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Utilizing technical judgment and skills, you will ensure that produced radiographs are of the highest diagnostic quality and demonstrate the area(s) of interest.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintain patient information and test files/data bases
  • Interview patients to confirm/obtain necessary history
  • Explain radiographic procedures to patients
  • Operate radiographic equipment and perform imaging tests as stipulated in the work assignment
  • Perform bone densitometry testing as per orders/requisition and standard protocols
  • Properly position patients for imaging and/or scanning
  • Review completed scans for requisite information and anatomical areas of interest
  • Print out data reports and provide bone densitometry scan/patient record to authorized recipients
  • Enter clinical data into computerized data base(s)
  • Provide weekly, monthly regular reports/summaries of tests performed
  • Comply with all continuing education requirements
  • Establish and maintain systems for patient test results and follow-up
  • Respond to the needs of others by maintaining a professional behavior toward members and coworkers
  • Identify the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and make accommodations for such differences
  • Utilize proper body mechanics
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process in delivery of services to patients of the age group served
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner
  • Observe all organizational, regional, and medical service area policies and procedures
  • Maintain standards of professional behavior established to enhance quality of service
  • Utilize effective communication skills
  • Exhibit professional conduct in all interactions with patients and staff
  • Meet productivity norms established by the department
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: N/A
Education: Successful completion of a formal limited x-ray education/training program
License, Certification, Registration: X-Ray Technician Limited Permit (California), Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of recent experience in medical assisting within the last 5 years

Notes:

  • This position covers and requires Bone Density exams.
  • May require performing other duties to stay productive.
  • This is a Per Diem position that will require covering ALL DEXA locations from WH Med Center to the Ventura Clinics.
