Key Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Process Specialist will be tasked with designing and refining assembly procedures that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles. Responsibilities include managing new product launches and ongoing enhancement initiatives, coordinating training sessions for personnel impacted by engineering projects, and aiding in the formulation of project budgets and timelines. The specialist will monitor and evaluate processes, focusing on cycle times, scrap rates, and overall efficiency. Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems, including programmable and numerical controls, will also be part of the role.
A comprehensive understanding of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories, writing specifications, compliance with local and national electrical codes, and material properties is essential. The specialist will develop research and development proposals, outlining project objectives, applications of findings, associated costs, and resource requirements.
Additionally, the specialist will oversee critical projects, processes, and performance metrics, and establish documentation systems. Utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as root cause analysis and flowcharting will be crucial. The role involves researching and proposing design concepts and technological advancements for new products or enhancements to existing offerings, assessing proposals for their viability and potential benefits, and presenting actionable recommendations to management.
Collaborating with Manufacturing and Quality teams, the specialist will evaluate quality improvements and support new product development initiatives. Responsibilities include recording test data, applying statistical quality control methods, analyzing data, and preparing reports to identify deviations from established standards. Conducting both destructive and non-destructive tests on materials and products to assess performance and characteristics will also be required. The specialist will generate graphs or charts for data analysis, update work instructions as necessary, and maintain laboratory testing records.
