Position Overview: We are currently seeking a full-time Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our esteemed Division of Gastroenterology within the Department of Pediatrics. This role is open to candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a requirement to qualify for a Louisiana medical license.

This position encompasses both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, along with responsibilities for teaching residents and medical students, and offers avenues for research engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly teaching sessions in GI outpatient clinics.
• Perform endoscopic procedures at our on-site endoscopy center.
• Provide inpatient consultative services.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of gastroenterological conditions, a dedication to academic pursuits, and a commitment to high-quality clinical care.

Position Highlights:

• Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 40 beds.
• 23 pediatric beds in the inpatient ward and an 8-bed pediatric intensive care unit.
• Affiliation with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of only eight Children's Hospitals in the nation.
• Access to a Children's Clinical Research Center featuring a dedicated 3-bed clinical trial unit and laboratory, supporting numerous NIH and Pharma-sponsored clinical trials annually.

Our health sciences center includes the School of Medicine, School of Graduate Studies, and School of Allied Health Professions, fostering a vibrant research environment with over 800 enrolled students and nearly 600 residents and fellows trained each year.

We emphasize a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach among our physicians and nursing staff to create tailored care plans for each patient.
