Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Truck Unloader/Stocker to join our team at Michaels Stores. As a key member of our Service Team, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless customer experience by unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store recovery standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by helping customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions to their needs.
  • Truck Unloading and Stocking: Unload trucks, stock merchandise, and maintain store recovery standards to ensure a well-merchandised and in-stock store.
  • Checkout Experience: Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience, execute cash handling to standards, and engage customers on the benefits of our Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Omni Channel Processes: Assist with Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS) processes.
  • Merchandise Recovery and Maintenance: Responsible for completing merchandise recovery and maintenance, including the merchandise return/go back process and general store recovery.
  • Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD Set Duties: Perform SISO and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Shrink and Safety Programs: Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company Programs: Adhere to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations, and promote commitment to our organization's vision and values.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail and/or Customer Service Experience: Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to Remain Standing for Long Periods: Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to Move Throughout the Store: Ability to move throughout the store.

Work Environment
  • Public Retail Store Setting: Public retail store setting taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks.
  • Frame Shop: Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
