Ochsner Health in New Orleans is actively seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Critical Care Physicians to enhance our team of four Critical Care Anesthesiologists.

While preference is given to those with dual Board Certification in Anesthesiology, we welcome applicants from all training backgrounds.


This role encompasses approximately 25% of clinical responsibilities in Critical Care Medicine, with the remainder dedicated to a diverse operative practice.

The Ochsner Surgical ICU utilizes an interprofessional care model, managing 34 beds and catering to a wide range of patients across various cardiovascular surgical specialties, including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Mechanical Circulatory Support (ECMO, LVAD, IABP, etc.), and Vascular Surgery.

The Ochsner Medical Center Surgical ICU provides the chance to care for one of the most complex and high-acuity patient populations in the nation, as demonstrated by our top-10 surgical case mix index.

We encourage applications from both experienced physicians and those fresh from fellowship training.

Qualified candidates should possess a strong interest in academic pursuits and research.

Our program is a teaching institution, featuring fully accredited residency programs in Anesthesiology, as well as fellowships in Adult Cardiac Anesthesia, Pulmonary Critical Care, and Neurocritical Care.

The Department of Anesthesiology at OMC comprises 70 Anesthesiologists, 100 CRNAs, and over 45 house staff, with an annual case volume exceeding 52,000.
