We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at ProCare Therapy.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 1+ years of interpreting experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to accurately and effectively interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa in various educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
  • Promote and advocate for the rights and needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, ensuring they have equitable access to educational opportunities.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in sign language interpreting and educational support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Qualifications
  • Hold a valid certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting from a recognized professional organization.
  • Prior experience working in educational settings with deaf and hard-of-hearing students is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and ASL.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Deaf culture and the unique challenges faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology devices and software used in educational settings.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
