Job Title: Dish Steward

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dish Steward to join our team at the Hyatt Regency Coralville. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and efficient dishroom, ensuring that all dishes and utensils are properly washed and stored, and supporting our culinary team in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort, wash, and return dishes and utensils to food operations throughout the hotel.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work station, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies.
  • Expedite clean dishes and utensils to the cook line and other areas of Food & Beverage as needed.
  • Assist with the lifting and moving of food carts, dish storage racks, and other kitchen equipment as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks, including peeling vegetables and other food prep, as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards at all times.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 75 pounds and push/pull material weighing 150 pounds through crowded areas.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress and work well in a team environment.
  • No prior experience required, but prior hospitality experience preferred.
