Position Overview:

The BIM/VDC Specialist plays a crucial role in providing modeling expertise and support across various project disciplines, including estimating, project management, and field operations. This position is integral to the engineering team and reports directly to the VDC Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct VDC/BIM Coordination with various project disciplines.
  • Create 3D Models using REVIT and generate 2D drawings for documentation.
  • Develop comprehensive system layouts for electrical, lighting, and control systems, ensuring all necessary views and dimensions are included for effective fabrication and installation.
  • Collaborate with electrical foremen, project managers, and engineers to produce drawings and models that facilitate construction coordination and installation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient experience with REVIT is mandatory for this role.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of strong skills in REVIT 2020 is required.
  • Experience with laser scanning of facilities is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with various departments within the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and see projects through to completion.
  • Robust problem-solving skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2020, Navisworks 2020, and Bluebeam 2020 is beneficial.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in REVIT is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data entry into Trimble robotics layout stations is a plus.
  • Experience with Trimble laser scanning technology is advantageous.
