Job Overview:
Geisinger's Neuroscience Institute is on the lookout for a neurology advanced practice provider to become a vital part of our expanding team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
The advanced practice provider will primarily focus on General Neurology.
The ideal candidate will:
- Conduct initial evaluations and prioritize patient care based on the information gathered regarding their presenting conditions.
- Monitor relevant procedures and lab results, discuss findings with supervising physicians, and communicate results and care plans to patients and their families.
- Facilitate appropriate follow-up care for patients.
- Respond to inquiries from established patients and their families, assessing their needs effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss care plans and relay pertinent information to patients and their families.
- Assist in obtaining preauthorizations for medications, diagnostic tests, and treatments.
- Screen patients for various conditions.
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will possess a certificate of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and must be eligible for or certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Certification to work with all age groups is required.

Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Required)
Certifications and Licenses:
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of Care Management, Clinical Policies and Standards, Health Information Documentation, Patient Assessment and Care, Patient Safety, and Patient Rights.
