Job Summary

We are seeking an ESOL Instructor to teach adult second language learners the basic components of English, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining records of attendance and grades, communicating with students about their progress, and developing appropriate curricula and teaching materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach adult second language learners at SPL 0-2, reading GL 0-1.9 basic components of English to include reading, writing, speaking, and listening in an in-person and/or remote capacity, as needed.
• Develop and implement curricula and teaching materials to aid students in advancing their English skills.
• Monitor and assess students' progress, communicating with students about their progress.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades.
• Compile and submit lesson plans and curriculum reports as required.
• Attend professional development trainings to enhance teaching skills.
• Assist with assessment and placement of students.
• Participate in departmental, organization-wide, and other meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• TESOL certification and/or 3 years of experience in a related position.
• Experience with Evidence-Based Reading Instruction (alphabetics and fluency components) is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift, move, and carry up to 15 pounds.
