About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our Hardware Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and testing of mechanical components and assemblies for advanced airborne systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of new products and test hardware, as well as the improvement of existing products.
  • Utilize mechanical engineering skills during the proposal and concept evaluation, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design.
  • Create design solutions that meet product requirements using 3-D CAD modeling software.
  • Develop solutions that leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS) products paired with custom hardware.
  • Support design reviews, equipment integration, profiling, and testing.
  • Provide input on mechanical issues to the project team, working closely with the lead mechanical, systems, electrical, and test engineers.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years professional work experience required.
  • Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements for systems Performing trade studies.
Desired Skills
  • Design, integration, or test experience/understanding of airborne podded systems.
  • Airborne armament equipment or alternate mission equipment.
  • Cockpit displays.
  • Avionics.
  • Radar Systems.
