About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at GEO Corrections & Detentions. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care to inmates under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care to inmates, including assisting with daily activities and personal hygiene.
  • Answer patient calls and determine the best course of action to help them.
  • Measure and record food and liquid intake, urinary and fecal output, and report changes to medical or nursing staff.
  • Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate, as requested by staff.
  • Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
  • Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
  • Document observations of patient behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms, to nurses.
  • Stay up-to-date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Current CPR (American Heart Association) certification.
  • Nursing degree from a CNA program.
  • Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
