Job Summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a highly skilled InSite Chemist to join our team. As an InSite Chemist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of chemical waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of laboratory areas to identify and manage chemical waste.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of waste generation, storage, and disposal.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to develop and implement effective waste management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for chemical waste management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective waste disposal services.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel on proper waste handling and disposal procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical waste management or a related field.
  • 40 Hour OSHA Training certification.
  • Forklift Training and certification.
  • Reactive Materials certification.
  • DOT Training certification.
  • CleanPack Chemist Training Course certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Commercial driver's license (Class B/C) with hazardous materials endorsement (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical waste management or a related field.
  • Experience with CHOICE waste management software.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of up to 25 pounds. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.
