As a Yard Hostler, you will play a critical role in our distribution center operations. You will shuttle equipment within the premises as needed, working with another hostler to coordinate moves based on priorities directed by dispatch, shipping, and receiving supervisors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a yard tractor in a professional manner.
  • Handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to drive in snowy or slippery conditions, as needed.
  • Work in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
  • Work varying hours of the day as required (days, nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Fuel yard tractors and refrigerated trailers.
  • Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations.
  • Record, report, and maintain trailer temperatures.
  • Maintain working trailer inventory, anticipate shift needs.
  • Work closely with dispatch, shipping, receiving, clean out building, and security to ensure all trailer needs are met.
  • Prioritize trailer requests.
  • Strong commitment to safety.

Compensation: $28.25 an hour.
