Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietetic Assistant to join our team at WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals. As a Dietetic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality food and beverage services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all work areas for operation, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Fill buckets with sanitizing solution and maintain sanitizer strength throughout the shift.
  • Set up, restock, clean, and organize assigned areas as necessary, maintaining a clean and organized appearance throughout the shift.
  • Gather utensils based on correct portions and produce high-quality food and beverage products.
  • Prepare attractive and appetizing foods utilizing quality ingredients and follow menu cycles.
  • Correctly portion food and provide quality services to result in customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Removes trash from service areas promptly and cleans spills promptly, posting appropriate caution signage.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit from Monongalia County Health Department prior to starting or obtain a Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment and a permanent FSWP within 1 month of start date.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull a fully loaded patient meal cart (approx. 250 lbs).
  • Ability to stand for entire shift and work effectively in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures.
