Director of Quality Assurance

The Director of Quality is responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of the Quality Management System. This individual will implement the QMS with the goal of attaining product quality while supporting our operations teams to provide service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Quality Policies: Develop and implement quality policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure company goals are achieved.
- Compliance and Regulatory Management: Develop and implement industry-specific quality standards to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Auditing and Quality Control: Audits operational functions, and product documentation for compliance with specifications, regulatory issues, and the overall quality program.
- Internal Controls and Process Improvement: Establish and maintain internal controls, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) to improve the operations.
- Quality Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Quality team.
- Quality Metrics and Analysis: Utilize statistical analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and processes.
- Quality Reporting and Communication: Analyze and report on quality metrics, trends, and performance.
- Customer and Supplier Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to standards.
- Supplier Performance Management: Monitor supplier performance and evaluate supplier auditing processes.
- Training and Development: Develop and implement quality training programs.
- Departmental Budgeting and Planning: Prepares a department operating and capital budget annually or as requested.
- Human Resources Management: Responsible for hiring, promoting, demoting, or separating team members in the department in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Employee Development and Growth: Provides guidance for department personnel through appropriate plans and programs.
- Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
- Quality Management Experience: Extensive familiarity with quality management processes and procedures and should be able to devise methods to enforce quality standards.
- LEAN Principles and Statistical Process Control: Understand and apply LEAN principles, statistical process controls, Key Performance Indicators, APQP/PPAP, AS9102 FAI's, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (5 Why, 8D, 4M).
- Continual Improvement: Continual Improvement using statistical data, interpretation of industry standards and specifications: AMS, ASTM, ASQ, ANSI, Calibration Control and Management.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years managing an ISO based QMS or Nadcap chemical processing in a manufacturing environment.
