Position Summary and Responsibilities
The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for producing high-quality computerized tomographic images of specific anatomical regions following established protocols. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating imaging equipment to capture radiographs of designated body areas.
- Positioning patients using appropriate immobilization techniques.
- Adjusting equipment settings to optimize exposure factors.
- Communicating procedures to patients and addressing their inquiries.
- Assisting physicians during invasive procedures.
- Processing and developing imaging films.
- Utilizing mobile imaging equipment in various clinical settings.
- Maintaining accurate records and utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Understanding and addressing the unique needs of patients across different age groups.
- Training and mentoring new staff members.
- Implementing radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff.
- Ensuring a safe environment for administering contrast materials.
- Assisting with patient transport as needed.
- Adhering to Standard Precautions and using personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in Radiology or MRI preferred.
- Specific training and experience in CT imaging is preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Valid Florida State License in Radiologic Technology.
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- ARRT certification in Radiology and CT required within six months of hire.
