Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary duty of the teaching faculty is to facilitate learning activities and support that lead to the successful achievement of course objectives, contributing positively to the educational environment of the institution and the broader community. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering English courses at various times and locations.
  2. Designing engaging lessons that encourage student participation and application of knowledge.
  3. Submitting required institutional reports and documentation promptly.
  4. Utilizing a course syllabus for each class, adhering to established institutional guidelines.
  5. Meeting with and advising students before or after class or through appropriate communication methods.
  6. Assessing student progress in relation to course objectives and providing timely feedback.
  7. Maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  8. Participating in meetings, training sessions, and orientations as required.
  9. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The role is primarily sedentary, involving sitting comfortably to perform tasks. However, some walking, standing, and light lifting may be required.


Work Environment
  • Utilization of standard office equipment and technology.
  • Interaction with internal and external contacts as necessary.
  • Work is conducted in a controlled classroom environment with minimal safety hazards.
  • Hours may vary based on class schedules; instructors must be available to meet with students outside of class time.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in English, literature, creative writing, or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in relevant subjects.

Compensation

Compensation is $51.75 per contact hour.
