As an Ambulatory Anesthesiology Specialist with Orlando Health, you will administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care under the direction of attending anesthesiologists in the operating room and satellite areas.

  • You will participate in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
  • You will perform pre-anesthetic assessments prior to each procedure as directed by attending anesthesiologists.
  • You will formulate a patient-specific anesthetic plan of care in collaboration with attending anesthesiologists.
  • You will determine, prepare, and ensure necessary medications, equipment, and adjunct therapies for administration of anesthetics.
  • You will initiate plans of anesthesia care (general, regional, monitored anesthesia care) under the direction of attending anesthesiologists.
  • You will prepare and test anesthesia equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • You will insert and/or use invasive and non-invasive monitoring devices for continuous evaluation of patient status under anesthesia.
  • You will demonstrate proficiency in monitoring and management of airway; cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neuromuscular status; and emergence and recovery from an anesthetic.
  • You will supervise, instruct, and evaluate student anesthetists.
  • You will maintain legible, accurate, and complete medical records for each anesthetic administered.
Qualifications
  • You must be a graduate of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program.
  • You must meet all of the following requirements:
    • Current license as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in the State of Florida.
    • Current certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
    • Maintain current certification in Healthcare Provider/BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $160,000-$180,000 based on national averages and industry standards.
