Case Manager

Job Summary:

The Case Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to unaccompanied children in ORR care. This includes assessing reunification options, completing assessments and service plans, and facilitating the safe and timely release of youth while complying with documentation of services in the case file.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide case management services to unaccompanied children, including assessing reunification options and completing assessments and service plans.
  • Facilitate the safe and timely release of youth while complying with documentation of services in the case file.
  • Maintain regular contact with each youth, their family when possible, and established service providers to communicate case planning and progress.
  • Support the services provided to the youth while in care, including locating resources for youth and assisting with transporting youth to outside appointments.
  • Gather historical and current data relative to completion of a comprehensive case management assessment, including school records, medical records, mental health treatment, legal status and court involvement, social and family strengths and needs, support systems, and specific cultural issues.
  • Present case to stakeholders in weekly case staffing meetings.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff in-service training, and department meetings.
  • Carry a case load of 8 clients, varying on program census.
  • Complete timely reporting per ORR, State, and federal policy requirements.
  • Conduct internal chart reviews to monitor documentation compliance.
  • Complete, timely, and accurate timesheets and other personnel/administrative records as required.
  • Participate in the practice and continuing implementation of the Sanctuary Model.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of program/department.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, written, read, and verbal.
  • Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position (ORR).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ORR experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and agency regulations.
  • Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency, peer influence, and related group and individual interventions.
Other Requirements:
  • Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned. Position may require work outside of usual work hours on occasion.
  • Able to pass a comprehensive criminal history background investigation.
  • May need to travel with youth on occasion on airplane or company vehicles.
  • Position may require working at multiple ORR Program sites.
  • TB test.
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid required.
  • 40 hours of required training per year.
