Job Summary

The Physical Therapist will promote sensory-motor skills in children birth to 3 years old through enhancement of musculoskeletal status, neurobehavioral organization, perceptual and motor development, cardiopulmonary status, and effective environmental adaptation.

Responsibilities
  1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic services, plan development, training, and support to family members in implementing the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  2. Environmental consultation to ensure that appropriate adaptations and safety issues for the eligible child have been incorporated.
  3. Provide services which are rehabilitative, active, or restorative and prescribed by a licensed physician.
  4. Improve the child's functional ability to perform tasks at home and in other environments.
  5. Correct or compensate for medical problems to prevent or minimize a disability.
  6. Complete necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources (i.e., Medicaid, First Steps, etc.).
  7. Comply with First Steps Provider Agreement with regard to continuing education, etc.
  8. Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
  9. Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Registered with American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Certified by Medical Licensing Board.
  • Meets criteria for First Steps Provider Enrollment.
