Operator Assistant

Compensation and Benefits$26-$28 per hour depending on experience
Job DescriptionAs a key member of our team, you will be responsible for loading and unloading ferrous and non-ferrous materials in a safe and efficient manner. This includes operating roll off containers, end dumps, and flat decks as required.
Responsibilities- Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Maintain accurate records of driver hours, logs, weight restrictions, height restrictions, and tarp requirements
- Ensure all maintenance items are taken care of, including greasing, tire pressure, etc.
- Keep equipment clean and secure in designated areas
- Monitor over weight loads and unsafe conditions, reporting any issues to dispatch personnel immediately
- Handle supplier requests and complaints in a professional manner
- Move material in the yard as needed
- Recognize potential hazards and report any unsafe conditions to dispatch personnel
- Communicate delays that may impact the remaining schedule to dispatch personnel
- Possess a Class A CDL License and satisfactory driving record
- Understand OT rules and regulations related to over the road carriers and local deliveries
- Must not have any driving restrictions
- Be punctual and dependable
- Have excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers
- Be safety conscious and oriented
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Have a reliable form of transportation to and from work
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate and comprehend job-related information
