Overview

As a Utilities Director at Sugarbush Resort, you will be part of an all-star team dedicated to delivering an unparalleled guest experience. The resort is seeking a highly skilled individual to manage its utilities operations, ensuring safe, compliant, fiscally responsible, and reliable functioning of its systems.

Job Description

The Utilities Director will oversee all aspects of the Sugarbush-owned utilities, including financial management, safety, compliance, permitting, construction, maintenance, operations, customer relations, reporting, staff management, public relations, regulatory affairs, and more. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of water and wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate maintenance of infrastructure, including Water/Wastewater plants, pumps, pump systems, compressors, electrical components, telemetry, etc.
  • Work closely with the Facilities department in regard to snow removal/storm water plans, and the impact on road maintenance, ditches, and sediment basins.
  • Maintain adequate parts inventory for critical repair components.

Additional responsibilities include compiling and updating maintenance schedules, addressing environmental and safety issues, monitoring utility operations, supervising staff, and developing and maintaining operational and capital budgets.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • A Grade 2 State of Vermont Wastewater License and a Grade 4B State of Vermont Water License.
  • Vermont State Lab certification and ability to maintain training hours and hazmat emergency response.
  • Ability to use equipment such as pumps, compressors, and laboratory equipment.
  • Good mechanical skills with general knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
