Job Summary:

The Data Governance Program Coordinator will serve as an administrative resource, supporting various program activities. This individual will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the Data Governance program and will act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Administration: Assist with the Data Governance program administration, maintenance, and user support for data governance tools and systems.
  • Policy Development: Support the creation, maintenance, and accessibility of data governance policies, procedures, and related program documentation.
  • Program Monitoring: Monitor program progress, update timelines, track deliverables.
  • Reporting: Support in providing reports for business and technical functional areas.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Data Analyst Data Scientist and Technical delivery teams to develop, test, and deliver high quality products and features.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain critical business relationships throughout the organization, ensure senior leaders are consistently well informed about priorities, capabilities, timelines, issues.
  • Training and Development: Organize and schedule training sessions and workshops, prepare training materials, and track participant attendance.
  • Dashboard and Reporting Tools: Assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of the Governance dashboard and reporting tools.
  • Communication and Documentation: Provide support for the DG programs communication channel and documentation library.
  • EEO Compliance: Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge: Knowledge of applicable business software applications, basic reporting software such as PowerBI, Tableau.

Skill: Skill in listening to users, interpreting needs, and providing support, preparing easily consumable reports, professional e-mails, and correspondence, communicating effectively orally and in writing, interacting professionally with various levels of Metro employees and outside representatives.

Ability: Ability to compile, analyze, and communicate system information and data, develop and maintain project schedules, think and act independently, find creative solutions to problems, train users in implemented systems and tools, read, write, speak, and understand English.

Minimum Qualifications:

A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics or a related field.

Experience:

  • Five years of relevant experience performing work within a department leading to an understanding of data analysis, data management and project coordination.

Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements:

  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
