The City of McMinnville, OR is seeking a highly skilled Finance Director to lead the Finance Department and Municipal Court. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong finance professional with experience in municipal finance, budgeting, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial plans and budgets that align with the city's strategic goals and objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including the annual Comprehensive Financial Report (CFR) and other financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and standards, including GASB and Oregon state requirements.
- Lead the municipal court team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure alignment with city-wide initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the city manager, city council, and other stakeholders.
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in municipal finance, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, laws, and standards, including GASB and Oregon state requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO).
- Progressively responsible managerial experience in the finance department of an Oregon local government.
