Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Faculty member to join our team at Virginia Western Community College. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching nursing courses, advising students, and contributing to the development of our nursing program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach nursing courses in a classroom, laboratory, and clinical setting
  • Advise students on academic and career goals
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of our students
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees
  • Maintain currency in teaching disciplines and trends in community college education
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Current Virginia licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum of 2 years direct nursing care experience in the clinical area
  • Ability to utilize current classroom technology and experience using Microsoft Office software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Nursing or Doctorate in Education in addition to a MSN
  • Experience teaching nursing students
  • Experience using classroom technology (Canvas, Panopto, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Clinical experience in Pediatrics and/or Obstetrics
