Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Education Specialist to join our team at the University of Kansas Medical Center. This is a temporary part-time position that will play a critical role in delivering exceptional education to our nursing students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide students in various clinical care areas, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
  • Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities among students.
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty to prepare for clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.
  • Enforce appropriate rules and expectations for students in compliance with KUMC policies.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by administrative guidelines and legal standards.
  • Attend scheduled clinical and lab classes.
  • Fulfill other assigned duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Kansas or multi-state RN license issued by another Nurse Licensure Compact State.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a graduate nursing program.
  • Board certification or extensive experience in specialty, e.g., OB, mental health, Critical Care, etc.
Skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds as well as with individuals at various organizational and educational levels.
  • Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
