Sunbelt Fire is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our fire department team in Birmingham, AL.

This is a critical role that requires expertise in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including fire trucks, aerial lifts, and telescopic ladder systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, including fire trucks, aerial lifts, and telescopic ladder systems.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to optimize maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs.

We require a high school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a recognized vocational or technical training program in automotive technology, heavy equipment, or a related field. EVT certifications from a recognized organization are also preferred.

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits, including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, and 401(k) with company match.
