Work hours from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, totaling 32 hours weekly, including every other weekend and holiday. Generous sign-on bonus opportunity and additional weekend incentive of $1.25/hour. Extra shift incentive for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM.
Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a caregiver to residents during assigned shifts in long-term care settings.
This role involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN).Possesses knowledge of and provides age-appropriate care tailored to the physical and psychological needs of residents according to established care plans.
As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is responsible for adhering to infection prevention protocols and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Assists with essential health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and offering psychosocial support.
Facilitates resident mobility by assisting with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation, employing proper techniques and equipment, and providing range of motion exercises.
Completes tasks related to meal preparation and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents. Aids residents with meals and snacks, providing hydration and nutritional supplements as needed.The NA supports nursing staff with procedures as necessary, documents resident interactions and care outcomes, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry assistance to maintain clean living environments. Encourages resident participation in wellness and recreational programs and may serve on departmental committees as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
Minimum age of 16. Previous experience in long-term care as a nursing assistant is advantageous.
Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or obtain state certification within four months of employment by enrolling in a training program.
CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility.Must complete annual department-specific competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. Must maintain all necessary department-specific certifications.
For applicable states, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
Depending on facility requirements, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver's license. Must also meet medical qualifications for essential driving functions as per company policy.
