Job Title: Medical Assistant - Admitting Support

About the Role:

This position plays a vital role in supporting the Admitting department at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for collecting patient data, obtaining medical histories, and preparing instruments for sterilization.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Salary Estimate: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

Responsibilities:
  • Collect patient data and obtain medical histories
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization and maintain a sanitary work area
  • Assist with preparation of patient care, including admission, transfer, and discharge processes
  • Perform routine non-invasive treatment procedures, such as saturation and urine dipsticks

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; MA accred pgm graduate or 2 yrs MA experience preferred
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification within 30 days
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
