Join the City of Chula Vista, CA team as a Library Associate and contribute to the success of our public library services.
Job Summary:The Library Associate will provide exceptional customer service, assist with library operations, and support the development of library programs and services. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide customer service to library patrons, including answering questions, resolving issues, and providing directional assistance.
- Assist with library operations, including checking out materials, processing payments, and maintaining library collections.
- Support the development of library programs and services, including planning and implementing events, workshops, and other activities.
- Collaborate with library staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a library setting or customer service role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
The Library Associate will work in a public library setting, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
