Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Care Specialist to join our team at Element Care.
About the Role:
The Personal Care Specialist will serve as a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, working under the direction of a licensed nurse to provide exceptional personal care and support to our participants. Your primary responsibility will be to assist participants with all aspects of personal care, including daily living activities, meals, and transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist participants with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide assistance with meals, including one-on-one feedings, and ensure that all diet and fluid restrictions are followed.
- Participate in specimen collections and oxygen monitoring, as directed by nursing staff.
- Report any medical complaints or changes in participants' physical, cognitive, or functional status to the primary nurse.
- Serve as an escort for medical appointments and other pertinent events, as needed.
- Perform all tasks assigned on a daily basis, including restocking supplies and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with the geriatric population is required.
- HHA certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Ability to relate well to elders and anticipate their needs is crucial.
- Intermediate Microsoft computer skills are preferred.
