Hut Master

Join our team at Snowshoe Mountain Resort as a Hut Master, responsible for providing exceptional service and creating memorable backcountry dining experiences for our guests.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to manage our backcountry hut, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences. As a Hut Master, you will be responsible for event planning, supply procurement, facility maintenance, and staff oversight, while providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

• Event Planning and Management: Organize and execute backcountry dinners, handle reservation needs, and ensure seamless event execution.
• Supply Procurement and Logistics: Purchase and transport food, linens, alcohol, and drinks, manage supplies, and oversee personnel in variable trail conditions.
• Facility Maintenance: Shovel snow, clear walkways, perform basic hut maintenance, and conduct generator upkeep.
• Staff Oversight and Cleanup: Delegate tasks during meals, manage evening cleanup, and handle alcohol sales at events.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Driving: Valid Driver's license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program
• Preferred Experience: Cooking experience, knowledge of safety practices, CPR/first aid certification, familiarity with local geography, trails, and conservation principles.

Nestled nearly two miles out on the Cheat Mountain Ridge Trail sits the Sunrise Backcountry Hut. Beneath towering Spruce, the Hut offers a great dining alternative for those looking to 'get away from it all.' Experience in cooking isn't required but will help when it comes to this job, being able to work alone and handle a cabin in variable weather conditions is a must.
