Position Overview:
We are in search of a CLINICAL NURSE II to join our Duke Fertility Center. This role is vital to our healthcare team, providing both direct and indirect patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, oversee, and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with physician directives and established protocols. Exercise professional nursing judgment to tailor care plans based on patient assessments and responses.
- Manage communication through in-basket messages and patient phone inquiries.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage patient fertility cycles, including but not limited to IUI, IVF, and FET.
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the activities of both licensed and unlicensed care providers.
- Support other nursing staff in delivering care and assume the role of team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
- Monitor and take corrective actions to ensure a safe and effective care environment, including equipment and resource management.
- Engage in personal professional development by maintaining required competencies and identifying educational needs.
- Act as a mentor to support the growth of other staff and learners.
- Contribute to identifying clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and participate in related activities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Weekend shifts may be required, but no more than one weekend per month.
- Graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
- Registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within five years.
- A minimum of three years of registered nursing experience is required.
- Experience in fertility nursing is preferred.
This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule during daytime hours, with rotating weekend responsibilities not exceeding one weekend per month.
