Cooper Tire, a subsidiary of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering Co-op to join our team. As a Co-op Industrial Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and testing machinery and equipment under the direction of our experienced plant engineers and senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Review project instructions and blueprints to determine test specifications, procedures, and objectives
  • Draft detail drawings and sketches for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components or assemblies
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions
  • Analyze test results and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications
  • Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled student majoring in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Completed at least the freshman year with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a scale of 4.0
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills, both from a troubleshooting and project planning standpoint
