Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Addictions Counselor to join our team at Addiction Recovery Services Inc. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide counseling services to individuals struggling with addiction, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions, as well as family education sessions, to support patients in their recovery journey.
  • Participate in crisis intervention activities and consult with the psychiatrist as needed to ensure effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate discharge planning and referrals to outside agencies.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and clinical meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and share knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, human services, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Certification as an addiction counselor in the state of Maryland or active pursuit thereof.
  • Two years of supervised experience providing chemical dependency counseling services in a health or social work setting.
