Lead Clinical Nurse Supervisor

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Lead Clinical Nurse Supervisor (LCNS) is accountable for overseeing the care delivered to clients by Always Best Care Senior Services, ensuring adherence to the Agency's philosophy, standards, and all AHCA Accredited Policies and Procedures.

The LCNS will guarantee that all direct care personnel deliver safe, timely, courteous, and professional services to clients in accordance with their individualized Care Plans.

The LCNS will manage the services provided by all Homemakers/Companions, Home Health Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, LPNs & RNs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial evaluations of prospective clients in accordance with Agency policy.
  • Develop a tailored Care Plan for each client accepted into the Agency.
  • Oversee case management for specifically assigned clients in line with Agency policy.
  • Assist in the recruitment of personnel as needed, in collaboration with the Administrator and Operations Manager.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance committee to uphold service quality.
  • Adhere to all federal and state regulations governing home health care services.
  • Follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and OSHA regulations.
  • Abide by company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with legal standards of practice by all employees delivering services on behalf of the Agency.
  • Supervise, assess, and evaluate all employees providing direct services to Agency clients.
  • Conduct competency assessments of potential direct service personnel prior to final hiring approval and perform evaluations of existing staff as directed.
  • Engage in the selection, training, discipline, and termination processes for direct service employees.
  • Oversee and manage Case Management Functions.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the care provided to each client under supervision and conduct supervisory visits as necessary.
  • Train and orient all direct care staff in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Be available for the supervision of direct service personnel as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Successfully pass a Level 2 Criminal Background screening through AHCA, the OIG Exclusion List, and a National Sex Offender Registry check.
  • Hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in home care as a professional nurse is required, with at least one year in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to engage professionally with clients, healthcare providers, vendors, and Agency staff.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Public Interaction:

  • Significant personal and telephonic interaction with clients, caregivers, and family members.
  • Some telephonic communication with healthcare providers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Travel throughout the Agency's service area; significant telephonic communication in addition to in-person meetings with clients, families, and caregivers; ability to lift supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting and clients' residences.
