The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher to contribute to cutting-edge research projects focused on the economics of health. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in multi-year research projects examining the consequences of specialty care expansion in healthcare, with a particular emphasis on disparities in care and underserved populations.

Research Focus

The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in designing study methods, conducting analyses, and supporting the development of a data archive that will enable future research in health economics. The researcher will also have the opportunity to develop independent projects and produce peer-reviewed publications. Suitable researchers will be invited to participate in activities of the NBER aging and health fellowship program.

Qualifications
  • PhD in economics with subspecialty in health, health policy, statistics, or a related field
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and proficiency with Stata
  • Track record of successful research projects and mastery of statistical and econometric methods
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare delivery, health policy, and health disparities
Benefits

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance. The salary is commensurate with experience and follows the NIH guideline. The position is located at the NBER's Cambridge MA headquarters, but can also be at UCSF in San Francisco.
