Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of tasks, including performing nuclear medicine exams, receiving and calibrating radioactive isotopes, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Perform nuclear medicine exams following established protocols and procedures
  • Receive, calibrate, and log radioactive isotopes
  • Administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes
  • Provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident or spill
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and exam results
  • Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete
  • Inform patients about the procedure and answer questions
  • Interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members
  • Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required for the position
  • Adhere to the facility's ICARE values
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
  • Current registry by CNMT or ARRT (N) is required
  • BLS required
  • PET CT experience preferred
