Medical Dosimetrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team at Holy Name Hospital. As a Medical Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in the planning and delivery of radiation therapy treatments for our patients.

• Follows the dose prescription given by the Radiation Oncologist and assists in contouring critical structures.
• Plans a treatment technique using the Eclipse treatment planning computer to deliver a high radiation dose to tumor volume while protecting sensitive structures around it.
• Verifies and reviews radiology reports with Radiation Oncologist.
• Collaborates with the therapist in the simulation and CT simulation processes.
• Verifies the accurate input of patient information into the ARIA information system.
• Assists in preparation of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices.
• Assists technical staff in implementation of treatment plan.
• Performs annual quality assurance on treatment planning computer.
• Observes and practices radiation safety procedures for patients and personnel.

• Bachelor's Degree in physical or biological sciences with on-the-job training in dosimetry for 12 months.
• 1-3 years of practical supervised experience in radiation dosimetry.
• 1-3 years of clinical experience as a therapist.
• RAD THER - Radiation Therapist, Registered A certified medical dosimetrist or a registered Radiation Therapist with on-the-job training in dosimetry for 12 months.
