About the RoleNew Bridge Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join its team of healthcare professionals.
Main Responsibilities- Respiratory Therapy Procedures: Administer oxygen, aerosol, and medicated aerosol therapy as per scope of service and NJ Board of Respiratory Therapy guidelines.
- Mechanical Ventilation: Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation systems to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Patient Care: Draw blood-gas samples (with certification) and analyze acid-base levels to provide comprehensive care.
- Airway Management: Suction patient airways, trachea, and mouth to maintain proper respiratory function.
- CPR and Life Support: Provide CPR and life support services as needed.
- Medical Gas Management: Deliver, set-up, monitor, and change medical gases according to hospital protocols.
- Intubation and Tracheostomy: Perform intubation (with certification) and tracheostomy procedures with precision and care.
- Education: Graduation from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program required for new hires.
- Licensure: Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure required.
- Certification: Current NJ license as Respiratory Therapist required.
- Experience: 2 years of critical care experience preferred but not mandatory.
The Respiratory Therapist will work in various settings, including patient care areas, the Respiratory Care Services office, off-site locations, decontamination areas, and the tank yard. They will interact with staff, patients, and family members.
