Job Summary
We are seeking an ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) or FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) with 5-10 years of actuarial experience and 3 years of reserving experience to join our Global Liability and Specialty Lines reserving team. This six to twelve month placement has the option for a long-term permanent role.

About the Role
The successful candidate will support the main quarterly reserving process and setting of the Actuarial Central Estimates. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the peer review of the actuarial central estimate indications for the liability and specialty lines produced by the Insurance and Reinsurance Segment/ACE reserving teams.
  • Assist in the monitoring of loss ratio planning assumptions as well as supporting the annual business planning process.
  • Provide support in producing materials for the Sompo International Group Loss Reserve committee and business unit leaders regarding reserve selections, movements during the quarter, ACE indications, and trends/risks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of frameworks aimed at improving efficiency of existing processes.
  • Maintain actuarial assumptions in the reserving platform.
  • Develop relationships with Actuarial Pricing, Risk, Claims, Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis and leverage these relationships to enhance an understanding of Sompo Internationals business and processes.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) or FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society)
  • 5-10 years of actuarial experience
  • 3 years of reserving experience preferred
  • Insurance/Reinsurance experience a must

Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, plus benefit packages including medical, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
