Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Altru Health. As a Special Procedures Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Quality Patient Care
    • Perform daily rounds to ensure quality customer service and address any patient requirements.
    • Develop a plan of care based on patient assessment, reflecting their physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
    • Assess patient condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team
    • Identify early warning signs of a change in patient condition and respond appropriately.
    • Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the multidisciplinary team and record them accurately.
  • Discharge Planning and Education
    • Begin discharge planning as early as possible, providing education and counseling based on identified needs.
    • Evaluate and document patient progress according to standard operating procedure.
  • Leadership and Delegation
    • Assign or delegate nursing interventions to other persons with the necessary skills and competence to accomplish safely.
  • Professional Development
    • Complete certification requirements, including Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of start date.
Requirements
  • Certifications
    • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Physical and Working Conditions
    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, and handle objects frequently.
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull medium-weight objects.
    • Ability to work in an indoor environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Driving Requirements
    • Infrequent driver, with occasional driving required.
