Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to work with our team of professionals to provide high-quality physical therapy services to students with developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree or master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited school and be licensed with the NYS Department of Education or eligible for licensure.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate students on assigned caseload and determine appropriate program goals (both long and short term).
- Provide direct treatment to students on assigned caseload.
- Schedule assigned caseload in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services.
- Submit all written documentation in accordance with School and Preschool policies.
- Periodically reassess student's progress toward goals and adjust goals as necessary.
- Assess student's need for equipment (in collaboration with clinical and educational staff).
- Communicate regularly with parents, classroom staff, and related service personnel regarding individual student's program and progress.
- Doctoral degree or master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited school.
- Licensed with NYS Department of Education or eligible for licensure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push and pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot, and grasp with both hands.
