Executive Chef Opportunity at Steamboat Ski Resort

We are seeking a visionary Executive Chef to lead our culinary teams at the Steamboat Grand Hotel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for elevating our culinary offerings in our three dining venues and event space, which spans over 17,000 square feet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate local tastes and develop recipes that reflect and enhance local character and interest.
  • Meet and exceed each guest's highest expectations for delivery, presentation, and taste.
  • Cultivate a following of regulars by providing exceptional dining experiences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regional suppliers to maximize the use of local ingredients.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of kitchen processes that integrate BOH and FOH into a seamless operation.
  • Develop and manage a team of kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Control costs by monitoring and evaluating food, labor, and operating expenses.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to market the restaurant brand through various media channels.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in culinary arts or a minimum of 4 years' experience as an Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef.
  • At least 4 years' experience in a leadership role as an Executive Sous Chef or Executive Chef in a professional kitchen.
  • Prior food and beverage kitchen management experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as Food Trak, preferred.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff.

  • A competitive salary range of $80,000-$90,000 per year.
