Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at St. Luke's Health System. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security and Safety: Conduct regular patrols of the premises and grounds to prevent damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry. Control access to health system facilities and ensure that doors, windows, and gates are properly secured.
  • De-escalation and Conflict Resolution: Apply de-escalation tactics to work with high-risk patients, ensuring their safety and the safety of others. Participate in care plans for high-risk individuals, including physical control within established parameters.
  • Investigations and Reporting: Investigate incidents, collect data, and report security, safety, and fire hazards. Maintain a daily log and ensure that security equipment is functioning properly.
  • Customer Service: Direct patrons or employees and answer questions relative to the location of organization's services. Monitor patient, visitor, and employee parking in garages, lots, and zones, enforce parking regulations, and issue parking citations when appropriate.
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving: Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possess a solid working knowledge of subject matter and may provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate groups.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years relevant experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license in state of practice and proof of driver's insurance
  • Prior Experience: Prior law enforcement experience preferred
