Job Summary

This role plays an essential part in the Respiratory Team, providing intensive respiratory care as medically prescribed. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will administer medical gasses, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, and non-invasive ventilation, among other treatments.

You will work closely with physicians to determine treatment plans and effectively communicate them to RNs and other clinical staff. Your expertise will also involve educating family members about treatment options.


Responsibilities
  • Administer medical gasses, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, and non-evasive ventilation as prescribed by physicians.
  • Determine and document initial assessments to inform treatment plans.
  • Analyze ventilator flows, volumes, and pressures, as well as gas and blood samples.
  • Communicate treatment plans effectively with RNs, other clinical staff, and family members.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
  • NJ respiratory care practitioner license.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification required upon hire.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification within 2 months of hire.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
